Well, after much weeping and gnashing of teeth, I’m giving up on the traditional market. I got a few manuscript requests—even a full request, which says I was close—but for a number of reasons most of which are out of my control I remain agent-less. I’ve tapped out most of the agenting market for speculative fiction. It was an extremely painful experience, frankly, and I may write about it someday, but not today. Today I’m focusing on what I do moving forward. I’m going to self-publish on Amazon again and dammit, I’m sticking with the the name I loved in the first place Scab Among the Stars. The teacher of my class hated the title, which makes me want to be successful with it all the more as sort of a Led Zeppelin-ish nose-thumbing. The cover is being completed as we speak by the good folks at Deranged Doctor Design. My goal is to launch the 2nd week of November. I’ll be appearing on my friend Kevin’s podcast, Sad Times, to talk about, you guessed it, times I’ve been sad, but I’ll also be plugging the book. More details to come.
